I read on List Serve awhile back that it is not wise to accept Medicare's assignment for HME. Did I misunderstand? I can't find the posting.

I don't think it actually said that it's unwise to accept assignment. It's not a good idea to become a "Participating Provider." When you are Participating, you must accept assignment on all claims. There is really no advantage to participation, and by giving up the option to submit claims "unassigned" you don't have much flexibilty.
