Could someone tell me how often a patient can get mastectomy bras (L8000) with Medicare in Region B? We call Medicare and get different answers such as 4 per year, as medically necessary, and 12 per year! We have looked at the LCD but only specifies the form as one every 2 years.

I called Medicare a few years ago and was told that there is no limit- it's according to "the patient's needs". I have never been denied, but have only billed about 6 bras/year.
