Default Wound care supplies

We are a new DME and have had many requests for wound care supplies. The Medicare reimbursement on these items is almost nonexistant. Is there any way that I can carry some of them without going out of business?

If you are a non-participating provider you can sell them non-assigned.

I am in Wa. State & bill for wound care BUT the information to substantiate the need of an item is crucial! I accept assignment on most BUT there are the items that are non-assigned. Very time consuming 7 getting a Dr. to write properly is the biggest issue. Until all of the information is on file, I have patients pay at the time of service.
