Default Stupid Question of the Day

I was just reading the Medicare LCD for oxygen, and noticed this in the section regarding the need for revised CMNs-

If there is a new supplier and that supplier does not have the prior CMN.

So, if we have the CMN from the previous supplier, we don't need to get a revised CMN for ourselves?

This was a question that I had myself and like you from what it states if you have the CMN from the previous supplier then it would be no need for a revised. So I called Mediare and the person I spoke w/ stated the same that it's a no if we have the CMN but stated that it wouldn't harm anything or be wrong if we got a revised w/ our info on it. It would be for our records... So prior to this we had a patient who switched to us from another supplier and we did get a revised CMN w/ our info on it.. Medicare so confusing and when you call they don't even sound to sure about it. Just thought I'd let you know.

Thanks! And you're right, they don't sound too sure of what they are telling us!
