Default Enteral Pump purchase/maintenance & replacement

HI,
We have what we think is our 1st patient that has selected the PURCHASE option on the enteral pump. What happens if the pump breaks down and needs to be replaced? Are we allowed to bill Medicare? There's info on MCRE website referring to pumps purchased MORE THAN 8 YEARS AGO..MCRE would consider a replacement pump claim. Does this mean Medicare won't pay for a replacement pump unless it's more than 8 years old?
Do we now use modifer UE for the last 3 months of rental payments?

THANKS!
