Question Change in Insurance

I have been billing Medicaid for 10 months on a wheelchair. Pt. now has Medicare as primary and there are only 3 months left in rental cycle. How do I bill to Medicare? Do you start rental cycle over, or just do the 3 months with Medicare using which modifiers? Thanks!

Default

I was told several years ago that we are to begin billing from the first month. I wouldn't think that Medicare would cover needed repairs on the item if they hadn't paid 13 months to purchase.

Default Change in Insurance

That's correct. Start a new billing cycle. It seems so wrong but yes,
Medicare considers it capped when THEY pay 13 mo.
