Question Enteral Feeding

We received a recoup request from Medicare for a patient on Enteral Feeding in April of this year. I called IVR and found out patient was inpatient for 10 days in the middle of the month. The recoup is for the entire amount. How can I get paid for the beginning of the month and end of the month? I am curious as to how others handle this situation. Thanks!

Default Enteral Feeding

Split the claim up and bill 2 claims; one for before hospitalization and one for after

I want to make sure I understand correctly. So, I will refund full amount to medicare, and then re-bill with 2 separate claims? Or will I have to send to appeals? Thanks for your information.

If you still have time in the filing limit I would refund the money and resubmit as 2 claims.
