With the new rules coming down regarding loaner closets, I am wondering how other companies are handling the new regs. Is anyone going to continue with them or how are you handling?

The best plan is to communicate this to your referral source. Why your company can no longer provide closet stock. Use this as an opportunity to inform the doctor of current changes with Neb closets. Many doctors have a few providers that supply closet stock so this is a great opportunity to show your referral source how ethical your company is as the other providers continue to leave stock in the doctor’s office.

If I read the regs correctly. It states we cannot do consingment closets for Medicare patients. That's all.

I just attended a conference call today with AA Homecare Wayne Gorski as the speaker ...on hot legislative topics. His feeling is that there very well could be a change in the mandate. He said there is a lot of talk of changing the reg so as to allow "accredited" organizations to maintain Loan Closets. Said we might expect some more info mid February. Let's keep our fingers crossed....
