Default VP Reimbursement

In regards to the recent OIG fraud alert regarding telemarketing to Medicare beneficiaries. Are your organizations taking immediate steps to change communication with Medicare beneficiaries when the order is initiated by the physician?

We're not changing anything until we see if AAHomecare has any luck working with CMS on this. I think they should be successful on this one, since it's obvious that CMS doesn't have any idea how this industry works. The way the OIG alert is worded, all HME providers have been guilty of this for as long as they've been in business (which is about 30 years for us.)

Not at this time. Given the focus from AA Homecare and the industry standard of this practice we are holding tight to see what clarificaiton and/or changes come out.
