Default PECOS - CR 6842 One time notification

As of July 2nd there were about 13,700 records on the NPI database (an
increase of about 400 from the last June update.) The most recent update to
the database was done on 7/6 - now there are only 12,691.

Heather,

When you say NPI Database, do you actually mean to refer to the PECOS Physician file uploaded on CMS website?

In terms of CMS' PECOS physician file, there were 719,024 lines in the 7/2 .csv version and there are now 723,381 lines in the 7/6 update.

You may be opening the file with Excel 2003. In that case, Excel will truncate the file due to size limitations. I am able to open it using Excel 2007 just fine. If you don't have that, you may want to try Access or Notepad.

We sent out letters to all of the physicians who were not PECOS enrolled and had previously ordered rental equipment. We are getting faxes of the confirmations they received when updating online. Do you think it is safe to bill yet?
