Has anyone received a PECOS error rejection, but then found the DR is on the PECOS listing from Medicare?

Hi Margie, this is from DMEPOS consultant Andrea Stark's website: www.miravistallc.com/blog.

Receiving Conflicting PECOS Enrollment Information?

July 19th, 2010
Some suppliers may be receiving rejection warnings for physicians otherwise identified as enrolled in PECOS. MiraVista recently learned that CEDI’s list of PECOS enrolled physicians is incomplete, which may result in the incorrect firing of warning messages for enrolled physicians. CEDI is aware of the issue and is working to update their records as quickly as possible.

Bottom line, if you are able to match the physician’s NPI and exact spelling of their first and last name in CMS’ list of PECOS enrolled physicians, then they should not result in rejections beginning January 3, 2011. CMS last updated the .csv ordering/referring PECOS file on July 15, 2010.

Yes and you can report these to CEDI. See email I got from CEDI when I asked
about these.............

If you have the names of the Drs. this is happening to, you can send them to
us via fax. We will check to see if they are on the file CMS has sent to us
as well as NPPES to make sure everything matches between the 2 sites. This
would include names and address. Our fax number is 317-595-4999. You can
put it to my attention.

As an FYI, that post was written on July 19th. The PECOS file has been updated much more recently than July 15th. Also, there is a new list of physicians with "pending" applications (submitted but not yet reviewed) available on CMS' website as well. For more information on PECOS, please feel free to visit Andrea's news blog: www.miravistallc.com.

Andrea also recently did a PECOS webinar and a digital recording of the event is available on the site as well.
