Has anyone heard of a requirement on rentals that the beneficiary has to go to doctor 6 months into rental and have documentation that they continue to need and/or use the equipment? I only know of CPAP requirements have not heard this one.

Hi Sheila, that is the talk that is going about the Regions now. Mainly for everything outside of Oxygen. I have been told by a RGN C Clinician that it is stated somewhere in the NCD that Beneficiaries must be seen every 6 months & it must be clearly stated by the physician that patient is in medical need & continues to use the equipment. If you receive MCR requests make sure you are sending an office note 6mos prior to your DOS in review. There has been no posted MLN's on this but it have been stated several times through webinars..
