Default DME & Hospice

I know that DMEPOS supplies to SNFs are not covered unless PT has been discharged or is in the process of being discharged home. What about those in Hospice and palliative care? How are such equipment covered and paid for?

Hospice also falls under that same system. Hospice agencies contract with DME suppliers for equipment and are responsible for payment for those services.

DME provider can get paid if the DMEPOS is NOT related to the terminal
condition. Get documentation supporting this and bill with GW modifier.
