Hello,

I am a relatively new biz looking to carry diabetic supply. In particular, diabetic strips (Freestyle,Contour,One Touch). In the midst of trying to assemble companies that we could establish accounts with we noticed a large variation in strip pricing due to the type of business. (mail order,retail etc).

We have exhausted many options which include Invacare, Mail Order Supply Websites and direct from manufacturers. Like any HME/DME we are looking to create positive revenue while meeting our local demands with competitive pricing.

It seems as the "little guy" we are hard pressed to find companies who will supply this product at a price that in turn allows us to provide to patient or pharmacy. We are members with buying groups which has given us some weight in the matter but not enough to rapidly meet the demands of our clients.

I know there seems to be debate in this department with CMS and so forth but I was hoping someone might be able to make sense of my jibberish so that I might move in a positive direction.

Good luck in your endeavors. I am a small supplier and have found that I cannot make money on "brand name" strips" There are some good ones that are not so expensive

We faced the same problem. We wanted to supply our long-standing customers but needed a reliable product. We found Bionime and have used them for over 2 years. We have had good success with the product.

You're most likely not going to be able to provide brand-name products and make any $$. Its sad but true.
