Default AARP Medicare Complete CPAP coverage

I am billing AARP Medicare Complete for a CPAP and supplies. Will AARP rent the CPAP just like traditional Medicare or purchase? I have submitted as a rental and AARP denied with denail 125 "submission/billing error". AARP covered the mask, tubing, etc but only denied the CPAP. Please help.

Thank You!

They will rent or purchase. We usually have to get an authorization through them though first since they require it for anything over $800.00. Did you double check your modifiers? Just RR or NU should be fine.

They [AARP]may already have paid for a CPAP for this patient. In that event, you would need to find out when the patient got the unit, and if the requisite time has passed for them to qualify for a new unit. If they broke the first unit and it is beyond repair, due to no fault of theirs, they may approve a replacement.
