Competitive Bidding question

HI

Our county is listed for round 2 of competitive bidding. In checking for providers in a round 1 region, I find there are A LOT of providers listed. How does this bidding process work? Is it possible all those providers submitted the same bid? Or is it just a "range" of bids that Medicare is accepting? OR... once Medicare decides on the pricing, any bidding company can AGREE to accept those prices?

It's a pretty complicated process. I would recommend that you attend one of the workshops being provided by VGM and the Medgroup. The clock is ticking on Round 2, so I wouldn't waste any time.

Thanks for your info... but, I'm going to sound dumb now. Who are VGM and Medgroup? Do they charge for this?

Both are industry buying groups (or Member Service Organizations). They charge a monthly fee to be a member, but the educational workshops are open to all (but there is a charge to attend). They have a series currently in various locations. If I can find a link, I'll post it here.
