Default PECOS! Again!

I just received an e-mail from Medicare regarding PECOS-

PECOS Warning Edit Change (CEDI Message)
Effective January 01, 2012 the durable medical equipment Medicare administrative contractors (DME MACs) began to return warning messages if the ordering or referring provider on the claim is not eligible to order or refer DME supplies as determined from Provider Enrollment Chain & Ownership System (PECOS). These messages are returned on the electronic remittance advice (ERA) or standard paper remit (SPR) with the following remittance advice remark code (RARC) and will apply to both 4010A1 and 5010A1 formatted claims:
N544 - Alert: Although this was paid, you have billed with a referring/ordering provider that does not match our system record. Unless, corrected, this will not be paid in the future.
Through January 29, 2012 the Common Electronic Data Interchange (CEDI) will continue to return the PECOS warning edits for 4010A1 claims on the GenResponse Report.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the DME MACs will communicate when the edits will become denials when that date is determined.
If you have any questions regarding the CEDI PECOS warning edits, please send an e-mail to ngs.cedihelpdesk@wellpoint.com or call 866-311-9184.
Anyone else get this? So this is it? They are finally implementing PECOS?

Unhappy

I got that message also. It looks like they are getting ready to set a permanent date.
I spoke to one MD office and was told Medicare is informing MDs that they need to be enrolled....

We have also been trying to have Drs sign on for PECOS. Unfortunately, most physicians either don't know what that is or care.

We've been getting that notification as late as today. My frustration is that we are getting the warnings for Doctors that are enrolled. I have checked spelling, reentered names just to make sure there is nothng hidden. My concern is that when live we will get these denials on doctors we shouldn't. Hopefully there is a hotline or something that we can call. It's a mess
