Default Sleep Studies/DME

We are a DME company with a clinical department that dispenses cpaps, we are now looking at doing at home overnight sleep studies. I'm wondering if I can get some advice from others that are doing this, thanks.

We have been doing home sleep testing for the non-Medicare client for years very successfully. Helen

At the MED Group national meeting in Jacksonville, FL a few weeks ago, there was an excellent presentation from a provider who has a 'sister' HST company. Explained their pricing, marketing, follow up.
Might check with MED Resp Network folks to see if it was taped and might be available.

Sheila,
This is not something you want to enter into lightly. If you are a Medicare provider of DME of any kind but want to provide HSTs, there are many items to consider before moving forward-even if you're planning to provide tests to non-Medicare patients only. In many cases, Medicare does not differentiate between the two if one company provides diagnostic testing AND therapeutic treatment.
